His first collection will be unveiled at this month's Pre-Fall collection, followed by the Fall/Winter 2013 collection at New York Fashion Week in February. Diesel Black Gold is strengthening its brand presence, opening its first street-level store in New York's SoHo district this year, with plans to open another store in 2013.
Andreas Melbostad, a Norwegian native, began his career at Nicole Farhi in London. In Paris, he worked for Guy Laroche, under the direction of Alber Elbaz, and Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche. After that, he worked for brands such as Nina Ricci, Donna Karan, and Calvin Klein, and is currently based in New York, where he consults for various brands.
