Takayuki Minami of alpha PR, who has produced numerous concept stores including the select shop "1LDK," opened his new self-produced shop, "Graphpaper," in Jingumae, Tokyo, on February 27th. The store is located at 5-36-6 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. At Graphpaper, products are transformed into artworks, with the goal of curating them. The store's motif is the 1969 exhibition "WHEN ATTITUDES BECOME FORM," curated by Harald Szeemann. Inheriting Szeemann's approach of showcasing contemporary art without being bound by convention, the store will explore ways to display items and communicate flexible ideas. For the opening, Minami renovated the first and second floors of an apartment building in a quiet residential area. With a minimalist, linear approach reminiscent of a museum, the store's visual impact is completely different from the concept behind his previous shops. To commemorate the opening, Graphpaper is collaborating with two brands. COMESANDGOES, the original brand of Ippo Sato, who worked at CA4LA before honing his hat-making skills on his own, will offer a trendy long-brim hat (21,000 yen). It is made from the finest rabbit fur native to the Czech Republic, and comes in two colors: black and gray. Meanwhile, in collaboration with MARKAWARE, a special order has been made of the classic nylon flight jacket, the L-2B. The tight silhouette harmonizes with modern fashion, and the epaulettes have been removed for a minimalist design.
