THE GARDEN ORIENTAL OSAKA in Miyakojima Ward, Osaka, will be holding the "THE GARDEN ORIENTAL OSAKA Cherry Blossom Festival 2015" from April 2nd to 17th. The event is planned to allow visitors to enjoy the spectacular view of the Okawa River in front of the Osaka Mint, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in Osaka.
The Garden Oriental Osaka is a facility that was originally the Osaka City Guest House, built in 1959. Since its inception as a guest house, it has welcomed many distinguished guests, including past prime ministers, with its modern Western-style building and lush gardens filled with seasonal flowers. It recently reopened in November 2014 as a restaurant and wedding venue. The Western-style building, based on the aesthetic beauty of modernism, features furniture and interior décor all in mid-century style, creating a luxurious space. This cherry blossom viewing event coincides with the "Sakura no Torinuke" (Cherry Blossom Walkway), a public viewing event that takes place across the Okawa River (Yodo River) from the facility. A vast, 13,000-square-meter "garden seating" area will be set up along the Okawa River, overlooking the cherry blossom trees. Enjoy cherry blossom viewing in a private space, away from the hustle and bustle. At night, spotlights illuminate the area, creating a magical scene. A standing bar will also be set up in the chapel within the garden, offering cherry blossom-themed cocktails, champagne, wine, and more. Another must-visit during the event is the steakhouse located inside the State Guest House, which serves aged beef. Instead of the traditional black and blue method, which results in a crispy exterior and rare interior, the steak is aged for over three weeks and slowly cooked to a juicy and tender finish. Enjoying aged meat while admiring the cherry blossoms is a truly special experience.
