Belgian luxury bag brand DELVAUX has opened a pop-up shop at the West Park/Luxury Stage on the 4th floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku. The shop will be selling the 2014 Autumn/Winter collection, as well as the 2015 Spring/Summer collection, and a limited-edition bag priced at 1.8 million yen. It will run until December 16th. In addition to the brand's archive collection, the shop will also be offering a special Isetan Shinjuku-exclusive fuchsia pink version of its best-selling "Louise" Boston bag (170,000 yen). The Louise series is characterised by a subtle "D" logo on the front. This style is based on the "Le Pin" bag, which was released in 1972 and was originally inspired by a horse trough, featuring a unique bottom.
Meanwhile, Delvaux's iconic bag, "Le Brillant," designed for the 1958 Brussels World's Fair, will be available as an art piece bag (priced at 1.8 million yen). There will be a total of nine pieces, each a precious, one-of-a-kind item. Six of the nine are displayed in a window next to the shop, and the other three are on display inside the store.
The interior is modeled after Madame Delvaux's room, and playful illustrations dance throughout, proposing a "new Delvaux" worldview that is unconstrained by tradition and formality.
During the event, the first 70 people to purchase a bag from the brand will receive an original charm as a gift.
