Sexy and cute, Jill Stuart's 70s makeup will captivate you with kitten-like eyes

Mar 16, 2015

This series introduces makeup tips for this spring/summer season from the SS15 runway. The first installment is from JILL STUART. The theme was "Softer Dressing with Makeup Colors." Smoky pastel colors reminiscent of makeup, such as rose, light gray, and blush pink, were used extensively. The look is soft and natural in texture and appearance, creating a collection filled with a gentle mood. The makeup, created by makeup artist Aaron De Mey, was themed around the 70s. The keywords were "relaxed" and "mirror look." While maintaining an urban feel, the look also had an unpretentious, carefree, and nonchalant vibe. Brown and natural colors were used primarily to accentuate the sophisticated fashion. The key was kitten-like eyes, which exude a mischievous yet sexy look. To emphasize the kitten-like shape, the eyes were firmly lined and flicked up at the outer corners. The eye color is then blended naturally to create a cat eye. A brown gradation creates a sophisticated look, and gloss is layered on top. A wet, glossy finish adds a mirror-like shine.

The key to the base makeup is to create a liquid base, then layer powder, and finally spray on diluted serum for a glossy look. Highlighting is added to the T-zone and chin to create a glossy texture. The cheeks are also finished with the image of adding shine rather than color.

Hair artist James Pecis created a light, natural, center-parted wave style. After carefully blow-drying to create shine, small sections of hair were taken and firmly curled from the roots with a hair iron. Finally, the ends were lightly curled and the whole style was softly loosened with hands for a natural look. Reverse curls along the face line bring out a mature, yet feminine look. This season's Jill Stuart collection evokes the image of an active, curious woman who travels the world like a jetsetter. The clothes she wears are a relaxed style that is comfortable to wear. The kitten-like eyes that are the key to her makeup give off hints of intelligence, sexiness and humor. Her ever-changing range of expressions captures the hearts of those around her.
