Using visuals that combine manga characters by two great masters, Osamu Tezuka and Fujio Akatsuka, fashion items designed by domestic brands will be on sale exclusively from March 25th to April 7th at the TOKYO Kaihoku Zone on the second floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku.

The participating brands are "DRESSCAMP," "mintdesigns," "TARO HORIUCHI," and "keisuke kanda." As part of Mitsukoshi Isetan's theme for this year, "this is japan," the event was planned with the aim of introducing Japanese culture under the theme of "JAPAN SENSES," which is the theme for the same period.

Regarding how this project came about, the buyer in charge commented, "In recent years, collaborations with manga and anime have been gaining popularity among customers as department store initiatives, and we thought we could do something with the author who is the origin of Japanese manga at the time of Japan Senses. Rather than working with the two authors separately, the visuals were born by combining the creations of the two artists, and this collaboration with a talented Tokyo designer was realized."

Dress Camp offers a polka dot top (39,000 yen) and skirt (49,000 yen) that combine "Princess Knight" and "Himitsu no Akko-chan" and features a tape fabric with a continuous illustration of "Princess Knight" at the hem. The exquisitely balanced fusion of Princess Knight and Himitsu no Akko-chan makes for a striking item. Mint Designs has designed a "Nyarome x Leo + Mint Designs" patterned T-shirt (7,500 yen), canvas bag (7,500 yen), blouse (22,000 yen), and dress (35,000 yen) printed with an illustration of Nyarome, Leo, and Doll-chan, the brand's iconic character, with their arms around each other's shoulders. The pattern is drawn with simple monochrome lines, but upon closer inspection, three characters are depicted, a typical Mint Designs homage. Taro Horiuchi has prepared a varsity jacket (48,000 yen), fleece top (27,000 yen), striped dress (20,000 yen), and men's silhouette T-shirt (17,000 yen) featuring a character motif that combines Nyarome and Black Jack. The resulting Nyarome x Black Jack look is full of humor and will bring a smile to your face.

Keisuke Kanda will be releasing a patterned tote bag featuring the titles of both artists' manga as an all-over pattern, as well as patterned items featuring selected motifs from both artists.

This collaboration is sure to be irresistible for fans of both artists, and is likely to attract a lot of attention for this unique initiative. TOKYO Kaihoku will continue to hold projects focused on Tokyo culture.
