Parisian luxury accessories house Roger Vivier will hold a retrospective exhibition titled "Roger Vivier - Icons Connected" at Matsuya Ginza in Tokyo from March 18th to 24th. The venue is Space of Ginza on the first floor of Matsuya Ginza.

The exhibition pays homage to the brand's history and captures the shining moments of legendary shoemaker and founder Roger Vivier (1907-1998) and current creative director Bruno Frisoni. It will unravel the brand's history by highlighting iconic themes from the past.

As it looks back on the history of the house, it will also introduce the stories that made the house famous. For example, the iconic Belle Vivier buckle pumps became famous when they adorned the feet of leading actress Catherine Deneuve in the 1967 French film Belle de Journey, and they remain in fashion history as the most copied shoes in the world.

The retrospective will also depict the essence of the accessories maison through the display of videos, photographs, and precious vintage items, such as a replica of the shoes designed for Queen Elizabeth II's coronation in 1953, and archives of the "Miss Viv" bag, which features a buckle motif and was designed for former First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy.

This season's items that inherit these icons will also be on display and for sale at the venue. One of the new items available in stores this time is the "Miss Viv'" (450,000-499,000 yen), customized by Inès de la Fressange, which features an embroidered design with Japanese cherry blossoms blooming all over the bag.

There are also limited-edition products in the lineup to commemorate this retrospective. The "Miss Viv" (373,000 yen) and "Belle Vivier" (129,000 yen), made of python leather dyed in dark cameo colors, will be released as limited-edition versions for this exhibition.

The exhibition also makes use of interesting digital technology. Some displays have QR codes, allowing visitors to virtually view Roger Vivier shoes using their smartphones.
