Audi's new "Audi TT" lands in Ginza! A "runway of light" appears at the Sony Building

Sep 11, 2015

Audi Japan is holding a collaborative event with the Ginza Sony Building until September 13th as the third installment of its "Audi TT Landing, Japan" project.

The "Audi TT Landing, Japan" project recreates a scene from the new Audi TT TV commercial, in which an Audi TT arrives from space and lands on Earth, in various locations across Japan. Using projection mapping and other technologies, the project has previously landed an Audi TT at the Enryaku-ji Temple on Mount Hiei, a World Heritage Site, and the Tottori Sand Dunes, a natural monument.

The third installment of the project is set at the Ginza Sony Building. A 30-meter runway made of LEDs will be constructed on the building's wall, and the Audi TT will speed along this "path of light" and land on the streets of Ginza, illuminated with LEDs. Footage of the event will be available on the special campaign website.

In addition, during the event period, an interactive initiative open to the public, "Audi TT Landing Experience," will also be held at the event venue. Participants simply take a photo in front of a panel set up at the venue, and the video will be imported into the interior of the new "Audi TT" featured in the TV commercial, allowing them to create a video that makes it seem as if they are taking part in the TV commercial. The original video created can also be shared via social media.
