MYKITA, an eyewear brand based on the concept of "combining beauty and technology," unveiled its custom-made eyewear collection, "MY VERY OWN," in Paris, a first for the industry, utilizing digital technology called "3D face scanning." The collection utilizes 3D face scanning technology and an algorithm that can adjust each component of the eyewear to fit each individual face, creating a design and fit that perfectly suits each individual's face. After selecting their preferred eyewear, customers are then digitally fitted using technology to visualize their face. The frames are then digitally simulated to fit their face, and customers can then customize their perfect eyewear by simply combining hinges and lenses in their preferred colors. This technology will be trialed in spring 2016, with full-scale implementation planned for fall 2016.
