Tokyo International Forum will host "TOKYO Stylish Night 'REFLECTION 2014/2015,'" a new style of event that combines lighting, 3D video, music, and dance performances from December 19th to 28th. This first-ever independently organized event by the Tokyo International Forum will feature a four-part installation using illuminations, performances, and projection mapping across the entire forum's outdoor ground-level plaza. At a press preview on the 18th, event producer Yuji Wada, general manager of the Tokyo International Forum's Planning Department, said, "We aimed for entertainment that offers a more art-like experience, different from traditional illuminations. By immersing themselves in a venue that dramatically transforms, we hope that audiences will be able to engage not only with external stimuli but also with their inner stimuli, engaging in introspection and meditation." Part 1, "PART I Classic NIGHT—'Melody of the Night,'" will begin at 7:00 PM. The event kicks off with a landscape installation in which the audience, including themselves, are incorporated into the scenery with the beautiful melody of the second movement of Dmitri Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2 playing as background music.

Then, in the second part, "PART II Dancing NIGHT," a dance performance supervised by Hasegawa Tatsuya, the head of the dance company "DAZZLE," will unfold. Performers include DAZZLE, tap dancer Toma Satomi, street dancer TATSUO, house dancer NAO CHA CHA CHA, and, making a limited appearance from the 23rd to the 28th, the dance and men's rhythmic gymnastics team BLUE TOKYO. In the third part, "PART III Lonely NIGHT—Dialogue with the Night," you can enjoy Laurent Petigun's "Amer From America, PREMIER JOUR, RONDE LANTINALE, PARFUMS, CLOAQUE, HYMNE AMER AMERICAIN, E DURU DURUR" playing throughout the venue, which evokes the idea of a dialogue with oneself.

In the fourth part, "PART IV Holy NIGHT—A Visual Kaleidoscope of Holy Night," a collaboration of projection mapping and music is created. Dynamic black-and-white images are projected onto the ceiling, pillars, and even the floor of the square, creating a surreal space. Light snowflakes and feathers fall, and the performance concludes with Johannes Brahms' "Hungarian Dance No. 4 (arranged by Paul Juon)." The music to be used is a selection of 25 tracks from the official album of La Folle Journée au Japon (LFJ), a music festival held annually at the Tokyo International Forum since 2005 (from the 23rd onwards, the third and first movements of "Winter" from Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" will be added). The projection mapping was created by filmmaker Oku Shutaro, who has appeared in overseas film festivals such as the Berlin International Film Festival. Dazzle, led by Hasegawa Tatsuya, is a winner of "Legend Tokyo," a competition that determines the best dance entertainment in Japan, and has performed on various stages both in Japan and abroad, including their independent production "Hana to Oki." They are highly regarded in the theater world.
