Ginza is one of the world's leading luxury brand boutique districts. Among the buildings lining Chuo-dori, the city's main thoroughfare, one building stands out with a striking presence: Damiani's new flagship store, Damiani Ginza Tower, which just opened on the 8th of last month.
Since its founding in 1942, Damiani has maintained a philosophy of handling the entire process, from design and production to sales, in-house. As one of Italy's leading high jewelers, run by the third generation of the founding family, Damiani boasts a loyal following of celebrities such as Sharon Stone, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sophia Loren, and Brad Pitt.
The entire exterior of the nine-story Damiani Ginza Tower is covered in the brand's signature "Damianissima" fabric, creating a truly impressive sight. "Damianissima" is a bold yet stylish motif featuring the brand's initial "D." It was added to the collection last year as a new icon to mark the brand's 90th anniversary.
The interior design is also exclusive to the Ginza Tower. This is the first boutique in the world to feature honey-colored marble flooring, with bronze-colored "Damianissima" accents harmonizing with the warmth of the floor. A luxurious space with a soft ambiance reminiscent of Mediterranean light welcomes visitors. The first floor showcases new releases, including important new collections like D.ICON and necklaces commemorating the store's opening. The second floor is dedicated to bridal, the third floor to high jewelry, and the ninth floor to the VIP room.
Currently, a limited-time fair is being held on the second floor bridal floor. The third floor also features a special exhibition and sale of limited-edition fine jewelry. Here, you'll find masterpieces that showcase Damiani's craftsmanship, meticulously handcrafted down to the smallest detail.
CEO Guido Grassi Damiani, who visited Japan for the grand opening of Damiani Ginza Tower, spoke of his love for Japan, saying, "I travel to many countries on business, but Japan is the country I enjoy visiting the most. I feel that Japanese people have a high level of professionalism. I also love Japanese food, and the women are beautiful (laughs)." The management family's love for Japan is also evident in the design of the VIP room on the 9th floor, which is reserved for special clients. Outside the VIP room window is a Japanese-garden-style balcony with a view of the blue sky. It is surrounded by bamboo fences and planted with seasonal plants.
"I often visited Japan with my father to buy pearls from 1987. My father was also a great lover of Japan. The opening of our store on the main street marks the realization of not only our but also my father's dream, as my brother Guido said at the opening reception, 'I would like to dedicate this opening to my late father.'" says Silvia Grassi Damiani, Guido's sister and Vice President and Head of Communications. The opening of the new flagship store on Ginza Chuo-dori Street also marks the fulfillment of a wish inherited from her predecessor: to "grow Damiani into an international brand."
