As part of the brand's 100th anniversary since its Hollywood debut, Salvatore Ferragamo will release a capsule collection, "Edgardo Osorio for Salvatore Ferragamo," in early December, in collaboration with young shoe designer Edgardo Osorio. Edgardo Osorio is a young shoe designer who has gained experience working for brands such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Roberto Cavalli, and Sigerson Morrison. In 2011, he launched his own brand, Aquazzura. This collection, Salvatore Ferragamo's first collection to bear a designer's name, features 11 designs across five lines. The collection reinterprets founder Salvatore Ferragamo's iconic designs from the 1930s to the 1950s for the modern woman. Drawing inspiration from rainbow wedges, polka dot shoes, and winged shoes designed for Hollywood clients like Marilyn Monroe and Mae West, the collection effortlessly reinvents Ferragamo's hallmark groundbreaking use of materials, shapes, textures, and colors. The shoes, featuring distinctive elements like ribbons, lace, and wings, are crafted using a variety of materials, including patent leather, suede, nappa, cork, stones, and feathers, in unconventional combinations.
