For the luxury watch brand TAG Heuer, this decisive step in entering the lab-grown diamond sector highlights the unique savoir-faire and avant-garde beauty, versatility and design codes that continue to drive TAG Heuer watches to excel. The launch of the TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma is another example of the avant-garde spirit of innovation that is deeply embedded in the brand's DNA.

Not only does TAG Heuer push the boundaries of traditional luxury watchmaking, but it also redefines the boundaries of technology and creativity. "Innovation and redefining cutting-edge technology are in our DNA," said Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer. "With the launch of the TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma, we want to broaden the color and design possibilities for diamond watches and our diamond products in general, creating a stunning new vision that explores the full potential of carbon and diamond design and the unprecedented play with light."

Combining Tradition with Avant-Garde Innovation
TAG Heuer's most iconic watch collection, the TAG Heuer Carrera, was chosen as the ideal model to push the boundaries of traditional luxury watchmaking techniques, design codes, and history. Furthermore, by adding the novelty of lab-grown diamonds to the unique world of the Carrera, creative freedom, achievable diamond shapes, and the implementation of various design techniques using lab-grown diamonds have been achieved at an unprecedented level. The result is a truly unique product, showcasing the use of innovative technology in an avant-garde way.

"Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technology, which we call "Diamants d'Avant-Garde", allows us to unlock the versatility of carbon in the form of lab-grown diamonds, creating beautiful timepieces featuring diamonds with the most unique shapes and textures. As a unique material, lab-grown diamonds allow for the introduction and experimentation of new technologies, opening new doors for designers, watch brands and engineers," says Edouard Mignon, Chief Innovation Officer of TAG Heuer & LVMH Watches & Jewelry.

TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma: a masterpiece of materials and contrasts
Powered by the Heuer 02 Tourbillon Nanograph movement, the TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma features a case set with Diamants d'Avant-Garde laboratory-grown diamonds and decorated indexes. The polycrystalline diamond dial is the stunning highlight of this unique new watch. The lab-grown diamonds used in the TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma are produced by a network of partners specializing in this disruptive, cutting-edge technology, including Lusix, Capsoul and Diamaze.

The 44mm watch case is primarily made of sandblasted anodized aluminum, creating a perfect combination of the material's brilliance and color with the strength and purity of the diamonds. TAG Heuer's designers also developed a polished black ceramic bezel, further enhancing the timepiece's elegance and contrasting pattern.

To further enhance the avant-garde style, the Swiss luxury watch brand collaborated with Capsoul, a pioneering start-up in the field of diamond design, to create a stunning crown at 3 o'clock, set entirely in diamonds. It is flanked by pushers with a black DLC coating, which give the watch a sophisticated matte texture that contrasts with the brilliance of the diamonds.

The special polycrystalline diamond dial is one of the highlights of this new timepiece. The brilliance of the diamonds on this specially crafted dial is the result of a collection of crystals that have grown together as a single diamond, creating a new form of a single diamond. This represents a major advancement in CVD technology, allowing many diamonds to create beautiful reflections and diverse optical effects while remaining a single diamond. At 3 and 9 o'clock, the minute chronograph and hour chronograph counters are crafted in black polycrystalline diamond plates, while the rhodium-plated and polished hands further enhance the interplay of light.

Each of the 11 white gold indexes is set with a diamond, with two proudly placed at the 12 o'clock position. The rhodium-plated and polished hour and minute hands are finished with a matte black lacquer and filled with white Super-LumiNova®, highlighting the rhodium-plated central hand. The TAG Heuer logo and the black "Carrera" inscription complete the shimmering dial, perfectly complementing the rhodium-plated bezel.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma's exceptional design isn't the only thing that sets it apart. The watch is powered by the exceptional TAG Heuer Nanograph movement, a true masterpiece thanks to its innovative carbon balance spring, developed by the TAG Heuer Institute and produced exclusively using the same CVD technology used to create lab-grown diamonds. This means that lab-grown diamonds are used in every way in the avant-garde TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma. The carbon balance spring offers unprecedented levels of amagnetic properties, shock resistance, stability across the entire temperature range, and the precision required for a high-performance chronometer. It also demonstrates the mastery of carbon materials, both inside and out, while simultaneously achieving a truly fascinating way of achieving the overall cohesion of the watch and its integration with the innovative lab-grown diamonds.

It is powered by the in-house Heuer 02 Chronograph movement, developed exclusively for the TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma. The movement is Swiss-made and offers a power reserve of approximately 65 hours. This special edition is individually hand-finished and features a rotating wheel in the shape of the TAG Heuer shield. Complementing its bold look, the TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma is presented on an elegant black leather strap with black stitching and a clasp made of black grade 2 titanium with ADLC treatment.

Frédéric Arnault further says: "TAG Heuer is a brand driven by innovation, and by introducing lab-grown diamonds in this avant-garde way, we want to create things in new, exciting ways that are different. This is an innovation that has been planned for some time and is just the beginning of a long story to come. It also marks a defining moment for TAG Heuer and for the Swiss luxury watch industry. We believe that a luxury watch should always excite, surprise and stay in tune with the times, and this new model does just that."

The TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma, announced as a Watches & Wonders innovation, represents the result of a dedicated team dedicated to creating Diamant d'Avant-Garde plasma technology with pure TAG Heuer DNA. The watch will be launched globally soon and will be covered by an extended international warranty of up to five years.
