Dominique Ansel Bakery's first pop-up: Introducing the ultimate marshmallow treat, "S'mores"

Dec 24, 2015

DOMINIQUE ANSEL BAKERY will open its first pop-up shop since arriving in Japan, "DOMINIQUE ANSEL POP UP," at Shibuya Modi from January 2nd to February 14th, 2016.

The pop-up will feature original s'mores sweets inspired by owner chef Dominique Ansel. S'mores are a marshmallow dessert long popular in the United States as a camping treat, consisting of toasted marshmallows and chocolate sandwiched between cookies.

The store will also be introducing the ultimate s'more, "Ultimate S'more" (800 yen), in which honey-flavored marshmallows are toasted over an open flame upon order, then sandwiched between a cinnamon-flavored speculaas cookie with brandy-scented chocolate ganache and a chocolate bar, and sprinkled with Maldon sea salt. In addition, the store will also be selling limited-edition menu items and drinks that cannot be found at the existing Omotesando store, such as "S'mores Cereal" (950 yen) with cinnamon marshmallows and rice puffs, "Marshmallow Caramel" (1,200 yen) made with honey marshmallows and fresh caramel coated in chocolate, and "Penguin Marshmallow" (600 yen) penguin-shaped marshmallows. Valentine's Day limited edition products are also scheduled to go on sale from mid-January. Furthermore, Dominique Ansel is scheduled to visit Japan for four days from January 1st to 4th.
