Watches & Wonders Geneva – March 30, 2022: One year after unveiling the relaunch of its Aquaracer collection at the same event in 2021, Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer returned to Geneva to unveil an even bolder and more robust edition: the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Super Diver, a timepiece of exceptional performance born to explore the depths of the ocean. This new model marks an important milestone for TAG Heuer: it is the brand's first timepiece to feature the caliber TH30-00, manufactured by Kenissi Manufacture SA, one of the world's leading movement manufacturers. Created exclusively for TAG Heuer, the new caliber offers significant improvements in reliability and durability, marking an important chapter in the brand's history.

The Aquaracer spirit at a depth of 1000 meters
In the world of dive watches, the extreme category refers to watches designed for professional divers, those who push the 1000 meter barrier to take on any challenge. The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Super Diver belongs to this category, a watch that can withstand the extreme pressure of the deep sea and is worthy of being called the Queen of the Sea.

Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer, said:
"TAG Heuer has been developing bold and innovative luxury tool watches for over 40 years. The Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver embodies our unique expertise in this field. This Superdiver's watch joins the Aquaracer Professional 300 collection, which was further evolved and launched last year, now boasting 11 models. We are pleased to present this latest edition of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer at this year's Watches & Wonders – a watch ready to conquer any challenge."

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver is the ultimate timepiece and diver's watch, leveraging TAG Heuer's 40-plus years of expertise in the field of savoir-faire. The Superdiver is the latest addition to the brand's ultra-waterproof watch line, inheriting the DNA of masterpieces such as the Heuer 1000m Diver and Super Professional.

The 1000m Diver, launched in 1982, was a groundbreaking model ahead of its time. With a large 41.5 mm case and an ergonomically improved crown at 4 o'clock, it marked TAG Heuer's entry into the world of professional diver watches, used by prestigious organizations such as Spirotechnique, founded by oceanographer Jacques-Yves Cousteau.

In 1984, the 1000m Diver was joined by the Super Professional, which became an iconic TAG Heuer diver's watch. Designed exclusively for professional divers, it featured a sturdy matte-finished case, a raised, knurled bezel that was easily adjusted when wearing diving equipment, and a bracelet with extension links for wearing over a diving suit. It also came with an additional rubber strap and a kit with a dive table, designed for the rigors of work in rough seas.

TAG Heuer continues this legacy and celebrates the 40th anniversary of its entry into the world of deep-sea diving watches with the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver, a watch that represents a heritage that unites the brand's authenticity and know-how in the world of luxury diving watches.

Ultimate Performance and Exceptional Design
The word “ultimate” best describes this new timepiece. With its 45 mm case, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Super Diver is built to withstand the greatest underwater depths. It is incredibly robust and bold, yet impressively elegant, at just 15.75 mm thick. While it can withstand the extreme pressures of the deep ocean, it remains one of the slimmest watches in the deep-sea diver's category.

Its eye-catching design is the result of the watch designer's obsession with legibility. While Jack Heuer's emphasis on legibility is well-known in the brand's chronographs, such as the TAG Heuer Carrera, the same is true for the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver. Following in Jack Heuer's footsteps, the designers of this timepiece focused on legibility for the ocean.

It all starts with the hands. The arrow-shaped hour indicators are more eye-catching than those on the classic Aquaracer Professional 300. A larger area of Super-LumiNova® coating also improves visibility underwater. The minute and second hands are orange, highlighting the most useful hands for diving. In fact, it's no coincidence that the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 SuperDiver sports an orange theme. Orange is the color of maritime safety, and the color wheel contrasts with the ocean's blue, making it instantly recognizable at sea.

The dial features a striped design already featured in the Aquaracer Professional 300 collection. On the SuperDiver version, the stripes are spaced further apart, also to improve legibility underwater.

The ceramic bezel features an orange first quarter, highlighting the area most commonly used to time decompression stops – an important technical detail divers use frequently when participating in deep-sea exercises. The bezel is crafted from a unique composite material: a hybrid of black ceramic and orange ceramic, developed exclusively for TAG Heuer.

To enhance legibility, which is crucial at extreme depths, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 SuperDiver is finished with the highest quality SLN grade X1 SuperLumiNova®. This grade of Super-LumiNova(R) is extremely powerful and bright, ensuring reliable visibility even in the dark.

The cyclops on the date display has been removed for technical reasons, as the technology to install it under sapphire crystal would be difficult to achieve at this depth. However, its removal has proven effective, highlighting the watch's clean aesthetic. In its continued pursuit of even greater durability and safety, TAG Heuer has also added a crown protector that is more robust than those found on regular diver's watches. The crown protector's main function is to ensure the crown is securely screwed in and out, protecting the movement from the risk of water intrusion.

The orange around the crown tube not only recalls the orange color scheme that runs throughout the watch design, but also serves as an important visual element to indicate that the screw-down crown is securely fastened. This visual detail is a carryover from the TAG Heuer Aquagraph, which was incorporated into the system in 2003. The black DLC coating on the crown also creates a striking contrast with the case, while the orange accents add vitality to the watch. In addition to ensuring the exceptional legibility of this high-performance timepiece, the TAG Heuer team also worked to improve its ergonomics. In particular, the bezel recess has been deepened to provide an optimal grip and ease of turning. Extensive work was also carried out on the sound and feel of handling the bezel, which began with the creation of the Aquaracer Professional 300 collection last year.

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver is crafted entirely from grade 5 titanium. This exceptional material allows for a finish comparable to that of steel and contributes to its lighter weight, making it ideal for ergonomics. The case back is exceptionally made of steel, ensuring excellent balance and the appropriate weight for a professional-grade instrument. The case back also features the iconic diving helmet motif, which is engraved on every watch in the Aquaracer collection and has been one of the timeless marks of the timepiece for almost 20 years.

Born for missions at extreme depths
The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver is engineered with advanced technology to withstand extreme pressure and saturation diving missions. Saturation diving is a method used by professional divers to operate at the deepest depths of the ocean, between 200 and 500 meters below the surface. In this highly specialized realm, divers must spend several days inside a chamber to acclimate their bodies to the extremely harsh environment and associated pressure.

Helium gas is used in this conditioning process. This gas must be released at the end of the mission and can easily build up pressure inside the watch, causing damage during decompression. To mitigate this, diving watches incorporate helium valves, allowing the gas to escape and preventing damage. The Aquaracer 1000 SuperDiver's helium valve is rectangular and finished with a black DLC coating to match the black crown. It also features the letter "He," representing helium on the periodic table.

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 SuperDiver meets the most stringent diving standards. In addition to traditional certifications, this timepiece is also ISO 6425:2018 certified for saturation diving watches. There are two levels of ISO 6425:2018 certification: one for diver's watches, which most watches on the market do not meet, and one for saturation diving. The second level is even more difficult to obtain and is extremely rare for diver's watches.

Certification tests cover a variety of criteria, including resistance to magnetic fields and shocks, as well as corrosion and luminescence. The movement is also magnetically shielded, which has a positive effect on the wearer's performance. This innovative technology further enhances the watch's accuracy and ability to withstand magnetic fields present in electronic devices such as mobile phones.

A Partnership for Excellence: Co-Development of a New Calibre with Kenissi
The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver marks a new debut for TAG Heuer, featuring the calibre TH30-00. This new manufacture movement is COSC-certified (Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute) and crafted to TAG Heuer's strict specifications by Kenissi Manufacture SA.

Kenissi is a Swiss manufacturer of high-performance mechanical movements founded in 2016 and based in Le Locle. The company's movements are renowned for exceeding expectations and offering the highest standards of durability and quality in the Swiss watch industry.

This TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver, equipped with a Kenissi movement, comes with a 5-year warranty. With a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, the watch will function perfectly even if you take it off over the weekend, with no loss of accuracy when you put it back on.

This collaboration will take reliability and durability to new heights and mark an important moment in the brand's history. The arrival of the calibre TH30-00 in the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver also marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between TAG Heuer and Kenissi, two companies committed to the same values of quality and excellence in fine watchmaking.

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver comes with a dedicated protective case that is as durable as the watch and is also equipped with a rescue diving light. The details of this highly technical waterproof and shock-resistant case are also orange, blending perfectly with the timepiece.

With its promising performance in terms of movement, design and technical innovation, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver is sure to be one of the groundbreaking timepieces in the 2022 Watches & Wonders edition.
