Jean-Paul Hevin will be selling his Bonne Annee (Happy New Year!) collection to celebrate the New Year at all Jean-Paul Hevin boutiques and Bar à Chocolat from December 26th to January 13th.
Galette des Rois, a traditional French pastry, is a confection that also includes an element of luck, in that whoever finds a ceramic figurine called a fève among the slices of galette will be blessed with good fortune for the year.
The "Galette des Rois Star" (21cm, 3,744 yen), which comes with a star-shaped fève, is made by wrapping Brazilian couverture chocolate and almond cream in chocolate-flavored pie dough and baking it. In addition, they will also be selling the smaller "Galette des Rois Star Petit" (13cm 2,450 yen) and the "Galette des Rois Matcha" (21cm 3,744 yen), which is made with a generous amount of high-quality Kyoto matcha. The ones sold contain a single almond instead of a star-shaped fève, and the star-shaped fève and a crown will be given to you separately at the store.
Bar à Chocolat will also be selling the "Menu Galette des Rois" (1,300 yen), which comes with a slice of "Galette des Rois Star" or "Galette des Rois Matcha" and a drink of your choice. This one may also contain a single almond instead of a fève, and the winner will receive a fève and a crown as a gift. In addition, new recipe bonbons will be available exclusively for the New Year, including "Vichy Rose" (418 yen), which has a tart kumquat flavor, and "Pied de Pour" (418 yen), which has the distinctive scent of bergamot.
