From December 25th to January 20th, 2016, Kagurazaka curation store la kagu will be holding a Japanese-themed pop-up event called "Mini Bonsai, Mizuhiki, Colored Picture Plates, Nagasaki Kites" and "Tableware - White and Silver" to help you fully experience the Japanese New Year.
From December 25th to January 7th, an event themed around "Mini Bonsai, Mizuhiki, Colored Picture Plates, Nagasaki Kites" will be held. The exhibition will feature "Mini Bonsai," a collaboration item featuring antique vessels decorated with silver by painter and ceramic artist Naoko Yasuda and bonsai trees by Rika Ishii of flower shop agalaia. Other items on display include Ishii's Mizuhiki (small size 2,000 yen, medium size 3,000 yen), and kites meticulously crafted by skilled kite makers at Omoriya, a long-established Nagasaki kite maker, using bamboo that has been aged for a year. (Mizuhiki will be available until December 30th.) Also, from January 8th to January 21st, 2016, the "Utsuwa - White and Silver" exhibition will feature Naoko Yasuda's vessels, plates, bowls, teacups, and more, all selected to reflect Lakagu's January New Year theme of "white." These vessels are antique white vessels decorated with silver, renovating old objects to create new pieces, embodying Lakagu's "RE VALUE" concept.
In addition, a workshop called "Learn to Draw Chopstick Wrappers and Small Money Envelopes" will be held on January 20th, 2016. Under the guidance of Yasuda Naoko, participants will be able to learn how to draw chopstick wrappers and small money envelopes, which are perfect for home parties or when giving gifts, and create their own envelopes.
