
Illustrator Toshiyuki Hirano's solo exhibition "once upon a time" will be held at Gallery Speak For in Daikanyama from January 30th, 2015. It will run until February 11th.
The title of this exhibition, which means "Once upon a time...," suggests Hirano's creative journey and the potential for new creative endeavors. Approximately 50 pieces will be on display and for sale, including new works, acrylic paintings selected from the artist's archives, drawings, and a recent series of three-dimensional, dimensional paintings. Also on display and for sale will be a collection of original works created specifically for this exhibition, as well as miscellaneous goods such as tenugui towels and related products. A gallery talk by Hirano himself will be held from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM on January 30th.
Toshiyuki Hirano was born in 1984. He has won various competitions since his student days. Since 2009, he has been highly acclaimed for his wide range of work, including book covers for artists such as Inoue Hisashi and Ikezawa Natsuki, as well as illustrations for magazines and advertisements such as UOMO.
