"Photographers in New York," a documentary film focusing on New York street photographers, will be released at Image Forum and other theaters nationwide starting in August. New York City has long captivated photography masters such as Diane Arbus, Robert Frank, William Klein, and Elliott Erwitt. This documentary follows 15 photographers who, armed only with a spirit of adventure, wander the streets day and night in pursuit of fleeting dreams filled with truth and hope. The 15 photographers featured in the film include Boogie, Martha Cooper, Bruce Davidson, Elliott Erwitt, Jill Friedman, Bruce Gilden, Max Kozloff, Rebecca Repkoff, Mary Ellen Mark, Jeff Mermelstein, Joel Meyerowitz, Clayton Patterson, Ricky Powell, Luc Santé, and Jamel Chappaz.
