To celebrate the release of the Disney film "Alice Through the Looking Glass," Isetan Mitsukoshi is hosting an event where customers can enjoy the world of the film. The first event, "The World of Alice in Wonderland at GINZA MITSUKOSHI," will be held on June 15th at the Terrace Room and Terrace Court of the Ginza Terrace on the 9th floor of Ginza Mitsukoshi. The event will run until the 28th.
"Alice in Wonderland," a film adaptation of the sequel to the story of "Alice in Wonderland," became a worldwide hit. This latest installment in the series, the first in six years, brings together an all-star cast and crew, including Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. This fantasy adventure follows Alice as she travels back in time to rescue the Mad Hatter, who is haunted by his tragic past and continues to wait for his family to return. It also marks the beginning of "Alice in Wonderland." To commemorate the film's release in Japan on July 1, a special exhibition of costumes and props worn by the cast will be held exclusively at Ginza Mitsukoshi. Following on from the previous film, the costumes were designed by Colleen Atwood, a world-renowned designer who has won three Academy Awards for Best Costume Design. As the protagonist Alice embarks on an adventure "back in time," this film depicts the characters' various time periods, and Atwood's newly designed costumes will be on display. The exhibition will feature Alice's hand-embroidered costume, inspired by Chinese culture, as well as costumes for the Mad Hatter and the Red Queen, played by Johnny Depp. Additionally, the exhibition will showcase the Chronosphere, a key item in the story that has the power to turn back time and is the source of the giant clock owned by Time, a new character in the film. This will also be an actual item used in the film. The entrance to the venue will be covered in mirrors, dynamically recreating the world of Wonderland. The event will also sell a variety of Alice in Wonderland-related goods, including items prepared to coincide with the film's release. The event will begin at Ginza Mitsukoshi, and will then be held at Isetan Shinjuku and Isetan House in Nagoya from June 22nd. Each store will have different plans, allowing you to experience the world of the film early on.
