
Actor Gérard Depardieu was born on December 27, 1948, in Châteauroux, France. He made his acting debut at the Paris theater "Café de la Gare" alongside Patrick Debert and Miu-Miu. His starring role in the 1974 film "Valceuse" marked a turning point for him, making him a popular actor in France. He won the César Award for Best Actor for his role in "The Last Train" in 1980. He won the same award again in 1990 for his role in "Cyrano de Bergerac," and was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor. In recognition of these achievements, he was awarded the Légion d'Honneur in 1996. In his personal life, he married Elisabeth Depardieu in 1971 and had two children, but they divorced in 1996.
