Screening of "Amelie" confirmed. All-night outdoor film festival "Forest Film Festival Crossing the Night Sky" will be held again this year

Jun 25, 2016

The all-night outdoor screening event "Forest Film Festival 2016: Intersecting with the Night Sky" will be held again this year from October 8th to 9th at Morimeisui Park Beruga in Yamanashi Prefecture.

"Forest Film Festival: Intersecting with the Night Sky" is an event where feature films, independent short films, and more are screened on a variety of unique stages all night long. This year, the third time the event is being held, the main stage "Where Dreams Are Born," where feature films are screened and stage events are held, will be even more powerful than last year, creating a world that is literally like the source where dreams are born. The sub-stages, where short films will be screened, are comprised of three stages: "Bathroom Soap," which features many cute works themed around "a woman dozing off in the bathtub on her day off"; "My Closet," which focuses on mischievous works themed around "a lively boy dreaming of dozing off in a secret closet base"; and "Unknown Station," which screens horror and suspense films based on the worldview of a decadent train station and the theme of "a tired salaryman dreaming of sitting on the last train at the last moment." Each stage, along with the corridors connecting the stages, creates a truly dreamlike, dreamlike space, adding excitement to the Forest Film Festival.

In conjunction with the official website renewal on June 25th, information on the stages, the first screening lineup, tickets, and more will be released. The first lineup has been announced, with Jean-Pierre Jeunet's feature film "Amelie," starring Audrey Tautou, set to be screened on the main stage, and the 17 short films that will be screened on the sub-stage can be found on the official website.

Also set up on the day will be a "Morris Market," which will feature workshops based on the festival's official mascot, and a "Popcorn Bears Kitchen" area with a food court. Tickets will go on sale from 10am on July 4th.
