MARC JACOBS has unveiled the advertising campaign for its Fall/Winter 2016 collection, featuring musician Keiji Haino. Keiji Haino is an enigmatic singer-songwriter with a unique worldview. Since the 1970s, his unique musical style has influenced a wide range of music, including the uniquely Japanese concept of "ma" (space between sounds). After providing a groundbreaking score for the brand's New York runway show in February, Haino was selected to join the unique cast, handpicked by Marc Jacobs himself. The soundtrack, a moody chime that explores the haunted moment between tones, resonated against the silent, all-white circular set. The advertising campaign was photographed in New York in March by David Sims and styled by Katie Grand. The image, along with all the images used in the campaign, was first unveiled on Marc Jacobs' own Instagram (@themarcjacobs), in which he commented, "A week before the Fall/Winter 2016 show, a friend introduced me to Keiji's music. It was simple, strange, and strangely fitting, as if under a suggestion. I was captivated by the shadows and lingering echoes left by the orderly sounds of the bells and cymbals."
