Photographer Takeshi Shimamoto's photo exhibition, "Still Dreaming moments of Leica X Vario," will be held at the restaurant "Malkovich" in Nakameguro, Tokyo, from January 15th.
This solo exhibition features photographs taken by Shimamoto using his Leica X Vario camera while traveling to Poland, France, and the Czech Republic. Shimamoto created these black-and-white images based on the concept of "a feeling of never waking up from a dream. By capturing even the most casual moments of my travels in photographs, I can return to my dream by looking at them." Posters of the exhibition will be printed and available for easy purchase. A1 size posters are expected to cost around ¥8,000.
A reception will be held on the first day at 7:00 PM (free admission). The first 100 visitors will receive a free A2 poster.
Shimamoto was born in Chiba Prefecture in 1983. He graduated from the Photography Department of the Academy of Art University in the United States in 2007. In 2009, he was selected as one of the "100 Greatest Photographers in Japan" special edition of Studio Voice. In 2014, he organized the art event "#BCTION," held in a demolished building in Kojimachi.
