Lancôme's new mascara adds volume to your eyes with its curved brush

Jan 26, 2015

Lancôme will release its new mascara, Grandiôse (¥4,200), on January 30th. The new mascara brush, which has been redesigned from the inside out, features a "swan neck" (patent pending) handle, making it easier to apply to both sides of the eye for a symmetrical, even finish. The handle, angled 25 degrees from the shaft, is curved in two places to ensure even coverage of the lashes, from the inner corner to the outer corner, while preventing excess mascara from getting on uneven areas such as the nose, cheekbones, and opposite eyelid. The brush's small diameter also captures, lifts, and lengthens even short lashes. The two types of bristles, arranged in a half-petal shape, optimally capture the mascara, a blend of three types of polymers, creating a long-lasting, voluminous curl.

The color available is a rich black called "Noir Mirifique," created by combining a color-amplifying polymer with a jet-black pigment.
