Talk show by young photographers who won the Photo Book Award at Roppongi IMA

Jan 6, 2015

On January 8th, the IMA CONCEPT STORE in Roppongi will host a talk show featuring five young photographers from Japan and abroad. All of the participants are nominated for awards at the "The Paris Photo - Aperture Foundation PhotoBook Awards Exhibition in Tokyo," currently being held in the gallery space. The event will begin with each photographer giving a presentation on their nominated work. This will be followed by a roundtable discussion moderated by Mutsuko Ota, editor-in-chief of the photography magazine IMA, who served as a judge for the awards. Japanese participants in the discussion include Takahashi Munemasa, who created the photobook "Tsunami, Photography, and Then - Lost & Found Project," Hamada Yuji, who creates idyllic landscapes using his own smoke machine, and Yokota Daisuke, who explores the nature of analog photography through the textures created by dust and scratches. The five photographers, including German photographer Daniel Reuter and Danish photographer Max Pinkers, will discuss their unique perspectives and their relationship to photobooks.
