Nike BHM Collection Celebrates Great Black Athletes in Black and White

Jan 22, 2015

Nike will release the 2015 BHM Collection in celebration of Black History Month (BHM) on January 24th. Ahead of the release, the collection has already been pre-sold at its official online shop and select retailers.

The collection pays tribute to six Black athletes and coaches who have contributed to the healthy development of sports, including skateboarder Theotis Beasley, American football player Jerry Rice, and soccer player Kevin-Prince Boateng. The collection features a black and white base color scheme with three different patterns. A total of 12 shoes and 16 apparel and accessory items will be available.

A portion of the proceeds from the BHM Collection will be donated to the Ever Hire Foundation, which supports efforts to unlock the potential of underprivileged youth through sports. Regarding the launch of the collection, Nike Vice President Michael Jackson commented, "Sport is an excellent platform for inspiring and driving positive social change. The 2015 BHM Collection celebrates and honors the athletes and leaders who have influenced global culture and paved the way for new generations."
