On December 29th, Nike will release a limited edition reissue model of the Nike ZVEZDOCHKA (32,400 yen) to commemorate the 10th anniversary of its release.
The Nike ZVEZDOCHKA is a shoe born from an unconventional concept, consisting of four parts that can be freely combined. The design was created by industrial designer Marc Newson, who, drawing on his career as a former member of the Russian Federal Space Agency, has created a piece inspired by astronauts. The name ZVEZDOCHKA is also taken from the name of the dog that was on board the Sputnik 10 satellite.
The combination of the outer cage, inner sleeve, insole, and outsole makes the Nike ZVEZDOCHKA a versatile shoe suitable for any occasion or environment. The shoe also features a flexible inner sleeve that provides full coverage and protection from the elements, creating a natural, barefoot fit. Nike Zoom Air is placed in the heel of the insole for superior cushioning.
These concepts make the Nike ZVEZDOCHKA reusable and environmentally friendly, using minimal adhesives. Available at Dover Street Market Ginza and NIKE.COM/NIKELAB, the shoe will be available in five colorways. A preview video of the shoe has been released on YouTube.
