Culture magazine Playboy opened a pop-up shop on the third floor of the main building of the Isetan Shinjuku store on January 29th. A New York luxury-themed opening party was held on the same floor on the 31st. Currently celebrating its 60th anniversary, the magazine is opening pop-up stores worldwide. Playmates, or Playboy cover models, made an appearance at the party. Hiromi Oshima, the first Japanese Playmate, and Miss Playboy Beth Williams walked the floor, and professional photographers were available for those who requested. A talk show featuring Kyoko Tanaka, editor-in-chief of Numero TOKYO magazine, photographer Yasumasa Yonehara, and Hiromi Oshima took place midway through the party. They discussed how Oshima was chosen as a Playmate, behind-the-scenes stories from her Playboy shoot, and the future of women's fashion. A live DJ performance by PELI also livened up the venue. The pop-up shop will be open until February 4th and will sell a unique gift collection, mainly lifestyle goods created in collaboration with brands such as Lucien Pellat-Finet, MEDICOM TOY, OLYMPIA LE-TAN, and DISCO NAIL.
