The March issue of Kateigaho with Mamoru Samuragochi's audio has been discontinued. It is also becoming a premium item.

Feb 6, 2014

Sekai Bunka Publishing will stop shipping the March issue of Kateigaho, published on February 1st. This is due to the inclusion of an article about the composer and ghostwriter Mamoru Samuragochi and the inclusion of his song "Sonatine for Violin" on the accompanying CD. The issue is listed on Amazon for over the retail price.

On February 5th, Samuragochi announced through his lawyer that major pieces he had previously attributed to himself, such as "Symphony No. 1 Hiroshima" and "Requiem for Piano," were actually composed by other musicians. A press conference is scheduled for the 6th for Takashi Arakaki, a part-time lecturer at Toho Gakuen School of Music who is said to have acted as a ghostwriter. "Sonatine for Violin" will also be used as background music for figure skater Daisuke Takahashi's short program at the Sochi Olympics.

Sekai Bunka Publishing announced on its website, "We apologize for providing our readers with incorrect information and feel a deep sense of responsibility as a publisher. We have also stopped new shipments of this issue and discontinued distribution of the electronic version, and will work to prevent this from happening again in the future."
