Takarajimasha launches "Otona no Oshare Techo" and "Otona Muse." Targeting adult women

Feb 7, 2014

Takarajimasha will launch two women's magazines, "Otona no Oshare Techo" and "Otona Muse," in March of this year, targeting "adult women." Previously, these two magazines were published irregularly as mook magazines several times a year, but as their readership has grown with each issue, the company has decided to make them monthly. "Otona no Oshare Techo" targets intelligent women in their 40s and 50s who prioritize their daily lives, while "Otona Muse" targets women around 40 who want to continue enjoying fashion. While Takarajimasha previously targeted younger generations, primarily those in their 20s, it is now raising the target reader age for all of its existing magazines and promoting the "adultification" of fashion magazines. This is in response to the current situation in which the average age of Japanese people has risen to 44.9 years old, with over 60% of the population being over 40. The company launched "GLOW" and "Linnel" in 2010, and both became top-selling magazines in their respective genres. With the launch of these two magazines, Takarajimasha will have a total of 12 fashion magazines.
