The world's largest apparel materials trade fair, "Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics Spring Edition 2014," will feature 1,400 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions. The event will run from March 3rd to 5th at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center in China. The previous event, held in Beijing, attracted 1,344 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions, and 25,000 visitors from 71 countries and regions. Now in Shanghai, the event is expected to attract many visitors, not only from China but also from overseas. Now in its 20th anniversary, Intertextile is gaining recognition as a place to encounter new materials and create new businesses. The exhibition will be held in three venues: Halls 1 and 2, and Hall 4. Hall 1 will feature Salon Europe, with exhibitors from Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. The German and Portuguese pavilions, as well as Milano Unica from Italy, will also be exhibiting. Asian exhibitors from China, South Korea, Pakistan, and Taiwan, along with approximately 20 Japanese companies, will be showcasing high-quality cotton, knitwear, synthetic fibers, and silk. There will also be a design zone showcasing original fabric designs for mid- to high-end markets. Hall 2 will feature exhibitors from within China, including the China Linen Spinning Association pavilion. Hall 4 will be home to accessories (clothing materials and accessories) manufacturers from both China and abroad. The Yarn Expo pavilion will feature nearly 230 exhibitors from China, Hong Kong, India, South Korea, Pakistan, Portugal, Singapore, Switzerland, Turkey, the United States, and Uzbekistan. The fair also serves as a platform for sharing information on upcoming season trends. At the Trend Forum, directed by Intertextile, trend committee members including Doneger Creative Services from New York, Elementi Moda from Milan, NellyRodi™ Agency from Paris, and Sachiko Inoue from JFW-JC in Japan will divide the trends for SS15 into four themes and introduce them using materials provided by exhibitors. Other seminars will include Design & Trends, Technology & Solutions, and Market Information.
The event is organized by Messe Frankfurt & Hong Kong, CCPIT-Tex (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Textile Industry Sub-Council), and China Textile Information Center.
