[New York LINE] Even the apple on the head is a balloon! The story behind the creation of the Nipponista poster.

Feb 12, 2014

Nipponista is running a pop-up shop in New York during the collection period to share the good things and good people of Japan with the world.

The poster visual for Nipponista, featuring a colorful floating balloon bear at the entrance to the venue, is the work of the unit "Daisy Balloon," comprised of balloon artist Rie Hosogai and art director Takashi Kawata.

For the shoot of this poster, members of Daisy Balloon stayed up all night to create mini bears and then molded them into a large bear, taking an entire day to shoot. The large bear is about 160cm tall. Even the apple on its head is made of balloons!

Daisy Balloon's creations welcomed visitors to the New York venue. The butterflies and flowers on this dress are also made of balloons. It's no wonder that people gasp in amazement when they approach.

If you come across this poster, I would be delighted if you would stop and take a look.
