[New York LINE] Nipponista Launches! A Project to Share the Good Things and Good People of Japan with the World

Feb 5, 2014

On Monday, February 3rd, a rare flurry of snow fell in Tokyo. Members of the Mitsukoshi Isetan Nipponista team flew from Japan and arrived in New York, the venue for the pop-up shop.

"NIPPONISTA" is a project by Isetan Mitsukoshi to introduce the best of Japan to the world and support its expansion into the global market. During New York Fashion Week (February 6th-13th), a pop-up shop will open in SoHo, New York, showcasing Japanese creations, designers, and artists who want to share their talents with people around the world. Eight women from Isetan Mitsukoshi selected the items from the fields of fashion, art, food, and design.

FASHION HEADLINE will chronicle the struggles of the Nipponista team, shared via LINE.

As of February 4th, the Nipponista team is currently setting up for the reception to be held on the evening of the 5th. Surrounded by cardboard boxes and wearing masks, the image of people preparing is common in any country, but this is definitely New York! It seems that there will be many kokeshi doll motifs on display.

We're receiving more reports from New York, so we'll continue with the rest next time!
