The theme of LOEWE's new Spring/Summer 2014 bag collection is "SKIN." It highlights the craftsmanship honed over 170 years of history, earning the brand its reputation as the "Master of Leather." The bags are crafted from white, black, and beige-toned nude leather, with an architectural approach to design. The new "Origami Cubo" and "Origami Pillow," as their names suggest, fold flat like origami paper. Standing them up transforms them into spacious bags. The Origami Cubo folds flat and features dual handles and a detachable shoulder strap. Available in three sizes, the collection features shiny calfskin and supple nubuck, both new to the brand. The Origami Pillow is crafted from a single piece of leather without a lining and unfolds to form a square. When carrying less luggage, it can be folded in half and carried like a clutch. Other items in the collection include the flat tote bag "Vega," which made a comeback in 2013 with the brand's collaboration with JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARÇONS, now available in nude tones. The classic "Flamenco" and "Amazona" bags are also available in nubuck and exotic leather, along with cute pouches that are mini versions of the Origami Cubo and Flamenco. In addition to bags, the collection also includes crocodile-print silk and cashmere scarves, as well as snake-inspired palladium jewelry.
Prices are as follows: Polished calfskin Origami Cubo from 208,950 yen to 283,500 yen, python Origami Cubo from 429,450 yen, Origami Pillow from 311,850 yen, nubuck Amazona from 283,500 yen to 323,400 yen, and others. Scheduled for release in March.
Pop-up events are also scheduled to be held on the first floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku from March 5th to 11th, and on the first floor of Ginza Mitsukoshi from March 15th to 25th.
