Fendi holds 20th anniversary event for "Selleria" bag. Japan-exclusive yellow bag released.

Feb 21, 2014

This spring, FENDI will hold a special nationwide event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its iconic Selleria bag series.

Brand founders Adele and Edoardo Fendi created hand-sewn bags using traditional Roman artisan techniques and the luxurious calf leather "Cuoio Roma." Fendi bags have since evolved with the times, and in 1994, Creative Director Silvia Fendi relaunched the Selleria series, consisting of eight models.

In addition to a wide range of items such as bags and small leather goods, the event will also feature the Selleria in a pop and fresh yellow color exclusive to Japan to commemorate the anniversary. The collection will be available for pre-sale at The Stage on the first floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku (from February 26th to March 4th) and at Kotokoto Stage 11 of Hankyu Department Store Osaka Umeda Main Store (from March 5th to 11th), and will then be sold at boutiques nationwide in due course.

In addition, to commemorate the opening of the Fendi boutique on the third floor of JR Nagoya Takashimaya on March 1st, an event will be held from March 12th in which artisans from Italy will be invited to demonstrate the manufacturing process of "Selleria." Japan-exclusive colors of "Selleria" will also be on display.
