FENDI, a luxury brand based in Rome, Italy, has added a bold playful twist to its iconic Peekaboo and Baguette bags for its Spring/Summer 2022 collection. The collection revives the work and forward-thinking spirit of legendary fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez, known for his fantastical style, while also expressing the Maison's outstanding savoir-faire and creativity.

A powerful mix of color, layers, materials and craftsmanship, this iconic bag is transformed into a graphic artwork with inlays, embroidery and captivating prints. It is a true collector's item that embodies the Maison's luxury to the fullest.

In collaboration with The Estate and Archive of Antonio Lopez and Juan Ramos, the collection features a selection of drawings that highlight Lopez's fresh and innovative vision of femininity, diversity, inclusivity and beauty, celebrating creative freedom and powerful, bold women. The iconic bag becomes a canvas, bringing to life glamorous, colorful, and abstract drawings, recreated in Fendi's signature style. Printed over plain leather or coated FF logos, the three-dimensional inlays create a relief-like texture. Exquisite craftsmanship adorns the Peekaboo I Seeu with multicolored inlays crafted from leather, metallic leather, and suede. Every piece is meticulously cut and sewn together to transform the bag into a work of art. Rainbow and sunshine details from Lopez's illustrations are enlarged and transformed into multicolored diagonal stripes, evoking a joyful attitude and unrestrained spirit inspired by the vibrant disco era of the 1970s. In keeping with the collection's energetic palette, the motif appears for unexpected effect on the lining of the Peekaboo I See U and is also printed on the leather Baguette Chain, which is embossed with the signature FF logo.
