This winter, I was feeling a bit concerned about dryness around my eyes, so I picked up some eye care products from Aesop. Please join me as I share my thoughts on Aesop, the Australian botanical cosmetics brand.
I'm an editor in my 30s, a working mother, and I spend less than five minutes a day on skincare. My first job after joining the workforce was selling men's cosmetics at a department store. That was nearly 10 years ago. Around that time, Australian botanical cosmetics brand Aesop arrived in Japan. Its unique brown bottles, which were quite striking compared to previous cosmetics, were apparently designed to minimize the use of chemical ingredients and protect the skin from light.
Years have passed since then, and it seems my previously trouble-free skin has taken on some damage. I'm starting to feel the dryness around my eyes. That's when I came across Aesop's Eye Serum 22 (8,505 yen). This eye care product involves applying a few drops to the eye area after applying lotion. The clear, golden-colored serum has a herbal scent and feels comfortable even when held close to the nose. I apply it at night after my bath. The next morning, when I wash my face, I notice a difference in the feel of my skin, making it a truly exceptional product.
Then, after washing my face in the morning, I take some "Antioxidant Eye Serum" (8,820 yen) on my ring finger and gently apply it around both eyes. The texture spreads smoothly without applying pressure, which feels great. And on a day when I didn't even look in the mirror until the evening, I really felt the power of this serum. The fact that my eye makeup, which tends to dry out, remains almost completely untouched... Honestly, I'm not the type to touch up my makeup frequently, so I think the noticeable effects of morning and evening care are the reason I can continue using it.
I'd skipped eye care before, but this one seems like it might be worth it. Now that I'm in my thirties and I've been noticing increasingly dry eye issues, it looks like it might become an essential item. I work in front of a computer all day and put a lot of strain on my eyes, so I need to take good care of the skin around my eyes, or so I tell myself.
