Cosmetics brand Aesop has opened its second directly managed store in Kyoto, located at 327 Shioyacho, Kawaramachi-dori Takoyakushi-sagaru, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. Open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, the store carries all Aesop products.

The store design was handled by Torafu Architects, who also designed the Aesop Shin-Maru Building and Shibuya stores. The long, narrow interior begins with a product display at the front, then a demonstration sink in the middle, leading to a counter and a leather-covered bench at the back. The second floor is a gallery space, with a hanging squid lamp hanging from the atrium ceiling.

Aesop opened its first Kyoto store (Yanagi-no-baba Sanjo-agaru, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) in September of this year, and the store design was handled by Shinichiro Ogata of SIMPLICITY. New stores are scheduled to open in London, Sydney, and Paris soon.
