Admire the cherry blossoms with a rosé sparkling wine in hand at "Cherry Blossom Viewing CHANDON Meguro River"

Feb 17, 2014

"Ohanami CHANDON Meguro River," a cherry blossom viewing event featuring Chandon Rosé, a premium Australian sparkling wine, will be held again this year in the Meguro River area, one of Tokyo's most popular cherry blossom viewing spots. The event will run from early March to late April.

This year marks the eighth anniversary of the event, which began in 2007. Last year, the event was packed with people enjoying Chandon Rosé along the beautiful Meguro River.

This year, Chandon Rosé will be available by the glass or bottle at approximately 30 restaurants, cafes, and bars in the Nakameguro area. Additionally, Marzac 7, a bar overlooking the cherry blossoms along the Meguro River, will once again open a limited-time "Ohanami Chandon Bar." The interior will be decorated in vibrant colors inspired by Chandon Rosé and the arrival of spring. Additionally, during the cherry blossom viewing season from late March to early April, an outdoor "CHANDON Counter Bar" will be open on weekends only, where customers can enjoy Chandon Rosé by the glass. Chandon Rosé will also be available at retailers such as supermarkets in Nakameguro.

Chandon Rosé is produced at the Australian winery, Domaine Chandon, using Chardonnay (55%) and Pinot Noir (45%) using the same Méthode Traditionnelle method as champagne. Its distinctive peach-pink color ranges from gold to light bronze, and its aromas of ripe, fresh black cherry, citrus fruits, peach, and pear are layered with the fragrant aroma of freshly baked pie crust, a result of its 18-month aging period. The bottle design is stylish and modern, reflecting Chandon's casual, chic image.
