French champagne brand Dom Pérignon is releasing a limited-edition gift box and an object in collaboration with American contemporary artist Jeff Koons. Koons has adapted his giant sculpture "Balloon Venus" to match the image of Dom Pérignon, creating a bottle-shaped object called "Balloon Venus for Dom Pérignon." The gift box, inspired by the work, features a shining Balloon Venus on the front and sides, with Koons' studio reflected on the balloon's surface and his signature. Two varieties are available: "Dom Pérignon Vintage 2004" (white) and "Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2003" (rosé). The white version is priced at ¥23,100, and the rosé is ¥44,100, both gift-boxed. They will be released sequentially from early October.
In addition, "Balloon Venus for Dom Pérignon" comes with a bottle of rosé and is made to order in limited quantities for 2,047,500 yen. Orders are currently being accepted for one year.
Dom Pérignon has previously collaborated with cutting-edge creators such as Karl Lagerfeld and David Lynch. In July of this year, a video work was released as a triple collaboration between contemporary artist Akira Yamaguchi and animation studio GAINAX, known for works such as "Neon Genesis Evangelion."
