On the evening of August 20th, French champagne maker Moët & Chandon held a party at Chelsea Piers in New York to celebrate its 270th anniversary. Approximately 500 guests representing various fields were invited. The host of the event was tennis player Roger Federer, who has served as a brand ambassador for Moët & Chandon since November 2012. Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue, who is a close friend of Federer's and has watched tennis matches with him and even appeared in the front row of a fashion show with him, was also in attendance. Other guests included singer-songwriter Emeli Sande, DJ Bob Sinclar, actor Josh Lucas, 2013 Wimbledon women's singles champion Marion Bartoli, who announced her retirement this month, and WOWOW tennis special commentator Ai Sugiyama, who is currently in the US for the US Open broadcast. The event also featured the unveiling of a new advertising image shot by Patrick Demarchelier, featuring Federer, and a live performance by Bob Sinclar and Emeli Sande. Catering was provided by the luxury Parisian catering company Potel & Chabot. A 3.7-meter-tall cake reminiscent of a champagne tower was prepared, inspired by the history of Moët & Chandon, and topped with a shining gold Statue of Liberty.
