German luggage brand RIMOWA will open its third Tokyo-only store on August 10th on the first floor of the main building at Omotesando Hills in Tokyo. The store's extensive lineup includes popular series like Topaz and Salsa, a wide variety of suitcase designs to suit various travel styles, exclusive items only available at RIMOWA stores, and travel essentials. The store's white interior is accented with RIMOWA's brand color, blue. Founded in 1898 by Paul Morszeck, a bag maker from Cologne, Germany, RIMOWA launched the world's first aluminum suitcase in 1937, and in 1950 introduced the ribbed suitcase, a design still in use today. In 2000, the company adopted polycarbonate, a material commonly used in aircraft and bicycle manufacturing. Under the motto of "combining craftsmanship and high technology," the company consistently incorporates cutting-edge technology into its products.
