Actress Stacy Martin is attracting attention for her role in the film "NYMPH()MANIAC," due for release in Japan this fall, and for her role as a model in a Miu Miu advertising campaign.
"NYMPH()MANIAC" is the latest work from director Lars von Trier, known for dark, nightmarish works such as "The Sea," "Dancer in the Dark," and "Dogville."
Based on the theme of "female sexuality," the film poetically and humorously depicts the life of the heroine, a self-aware nymphomaniac, in the form of a memoir written by the protagonist, Jo, over eight long chapters (Vol. 1: 117 minutes, Vol. 2: 123 minutes). Stacy Martin, who plays a younger version of Joe in Vol. 1 of this film, was also selected for the Miu Miu 2014-15 Autumn/Winter advertising campaign. The critical acclaim she received in this film has propelled her to success, and she is now receiving even more attention both inside and outside the industry. Stacy Martin captivates audiences with her confident performance in the challenging role of a nymphomaniac, earning her acclaim. Born in Paris in 1991, she was nominated for Best Actress at the Danish Film Critics Circle Awards for her role in this film, and is rapidly advancing her acting career with upcoming appearances in the sci-fi action film High-Rise by British director Ben Wheatley and the historical fantasy Il Racconto dei Racconti by Italian director Matteo Garrone. "Nymphomaniac Vol. 1" will be released on Saturday, October 11th, and "Nymphomaniac Vol. 2" will be released on Saturday, November 1st at Shinjuku Musashino-kan, Human Trust Cinema Yurakucho/Shibuya and other theaters nationwide.
