Misha Nunu's Smoky Eye Look Made with Just One Bobbi Brown Palette

Aug 18, 2014

This series introduces makeup tips for this fall/winter season from the 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter runway. The eighth installment features Misha Nonoo, whose signature smoky eye look is a must-have. Bobbi Brown, who served as lead makeup artist, proposed a three-dimensional, soft smoky look centered around her signature nude tones. The look primarily featured items from the "Smoky Nude Collection," due for release on September 19th. The key to smoky makeup is the balance of color, texture, and intensity. Glowing cheeks and a matte lip enhance the eyes. This season's trend is for base makeup to have a subtle sheen, resembling bare skin. For eye makeup, a matte brown-pink is applied to the lid, creating a natural shadow, followed by a shimmering, clear pink. To create a translucent effect, a beige shade with fine pearl particles is applied to the inner corner of the lower eyelid with an eyeliner brush. Furthermore, to add more presence to the eyes, brown eyeshadow was applied to the creases of the upper and lower eyes, and chocolate-colored eyeliner was used. Two coats of mascara were used to create a soft yet strong look.

Blush was applied in a slightly wider area, mainly on the outer cheeks, to create a soft, natural shadow. For the lips, a pink nude was used to create a soft impression.

Key products used include Extra Repair Moisture Cream, Skin Foundation Stick, Skin Weightless Powder Foundation (SPF16/PA+++), Smoky Nude Eye Palette, Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner, Longwear Mascara, Illuminating Bronzing Powder Antigua, and Creamy Matte Lip Color (all Bobbi Brown).
