The 6th tac:tac "Salon" is a solo exhibition by painter Daijiro Hama, who uses ink to create monochrome works.

Feb 20, 2017

Taktaku (tac:tac) will host the sixth installment of its "Salon" project, offering a space for various encounters and new discoveries, at its Koenji store from February 25th to March 5th.

This "Salon" features Daijiro Hama, a Kyoto-based painter who primarily creates monochrome paintings and drawings using ink. Hama moved to Toronto, Canada in 2005 and began working on video as a member of the local artist collective Exploding Motor Car. In 2009, he produced the music video "New Year" for Toronto band Obijou, which was nominated for the Breda International Film Festival the following year.

A solo exhibition by Hama will be held at the Taktaku Koenji store. During the exhibition, customers can bring their own clothing and have Hama's original painting applied (painting starts from 3,000 yen, prices vary depending on the desired design). An opening party and live event will also be held at 5:00 PM on February 25th. A closing party and live event will be held from 5pm on March 5th, followed by a talk session from 7pm on the same day.
