The 13th installment of Miu Miu's short film project, "MIU MIU WOMEN'S TALES," has been released: "Carmen." Launched in 2011, the project is shot by internationally acclaimed female directors, who use original techniques to depict cinematic worlds while taking a sharp look at "21st-century femininity." Miu Miu's collections play an important role throughout the films, with clothing, shoes, and bags driving the narrative. The latest installment, "Carmen," was directed and written by Chloe Sevigny, an actress and film director who has previously appeared in the brand's advertising campaigns. Carmen Lynch stars in the film.

The story centers on a stand-up comedian. By engaging with an audience on stage, he comes to terms with his looks, his dreams, and the strange "ritual" of intersecting with modern society. The backdrop for the bustling city is Portland's back alleys, supermarkets, and the dimming neon signs of showrooms. Sevigny based the script on a show script written by Carmen Lynch, herself a stand-up comedian, and then composed it intuitively. The gentle, moving, and melancholic characters are portrayed with Sevigny's distinctive sensibility and visual beauty. Lynch said, "The film captures who I am. When I'm onstage, being alone doesn't feel like being alone anymore. A lot of us comedians are shy people who observe and listen carefully."

The film will be released in New York on February 12th and will then be available worldwide. It will also be available to watch on the Miu Miu official website (http://www.miumiu.com/en/women_tales?cc=JP) and on the free smartphone app, along with exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.
