On February 19th, MM6 Maison Margiela presented its Fall/Winter 2017-18 collection in a presentation format. Three spaces were set up within the New Bond Street store, showcasing the creative process of real designers, creating authentic garments with authentic craftsmanship. In fact, 100 limited-edition T-shirts were produced and sold during the two hours of the presentation, demonstrating a commitment to authenticity. On the second floor, a photo studio was set up, where stylists and photographers were working, while in the adjacent waiting room, models enjoyed friendly conversations while waiting for their turn, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The looks featured a wardrobe of high-quality everyday wear that could be worn authentically. A menswear-inspired tailored jacket crafted from velvet took advantage of the softness of the material to create a silhouette that conforms to the wearer's body. Using materials typically used in men's items, such as herringbone, he created a handsome yet feminine style from a different angle. Footwear was adorned with heeled boots shaped like paper cups. He also suggested DIY styling using everyday items, such as using telephone cables and PC chargers as belts and accessories. Even basic items can be transformed into something special with different materials and details. Playing with accessories and adopting a humorous perspective seems to teach us that the secret to happiness can be found in the most mundane of everyday life.
