Nike releases new collection to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 1

Feb 23, 2017

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 1, Nike will release the Air Max Day Collection in March, including new models.

Air has been an indispensable element of Nike since it was first used in the Air Tailwind in 1979. With the release of the Air Max in 1987, it first became visible from the outside, and 30 years later, it continues to evolve.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 1, various Air Max retro, remix, and innovation models will be released. The lineup includes the Air Max 1 Anniversary (14,000 yen), a faithful reproduction of the Air Max 1 that started it all; the Air Max 90 Ultra Flyknit (18,000 yen), featuring a vibrant infrared color; the Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant (16,000 yen), a collaboration model with atmos that received an overwhelming number of votes in the "VOTE BACK" campaign on Air Max Day 2016, where participants voted from among 100 past models; the Air Max LD-ZERO (18,000 yen), designed by Hiroshi Fujiwara, which combines classic style with modern comfort; the Air Max 1 Master (16,000 yen), a 30th anniversary edition that combines the distinctive materials of popular styles from a collection of classics; and the Air Max 1, which is hailed as "the most groundbreaking Air Max 1 ever" and is the lightest Air Max 1 ever. The new models include the Ultra 2.0LE (13,000 yen), which will reignite the Air revolution and once again communicate to the world that Air is cutting-edge technology, and the Air VaporMax Flyknit (20,000 yen).
