VOILLD, an art gallery in Nakameguro, is currently garnering attention in Tokyo. Founded in 2014 by curator Ise Kasuga, VOILLD is a gallery that focuses on contemporary art, presenting a variety of content through special exhibitions and events that connect the next generation. For one week only, from March 1st to 7th, VOILLD will host the event "TOKYO HIGHLIGHT" at Center Park/The Stage #2 on the second floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku.
In keeping with VOILLD's concept of "encouraging people to experience art as casually as they enjoy fashion and music," VOILLD will exhibit artworks and sell collaborative items developed in collaboration with three artists featured by VOILLD: Kagami Ken, Tonda Hayashi Ran, and the artist unit magma, comprised of Sugiyama Jun and Miyazawa Kenichi.
Kagami Ken will be selling super-large cushions measuring over one meter (3 types / 29,000 yen each), Tonda Hayashi Ran will be selling camisole and shorts sets (SM size 6,000 yen each), clutch bags (9,000 yen) and towels (3,800 yen), and magma will be selling long-sleeved T-shirts (SML sizes 9,000 yen each) and hoodies (unisex SML sizes 15,000 yen each) with illustrations printed on them. Also on display and for sale at the "TOKYO HIGHLIGHT" venue will be magma's 3D objects, Tonda Hayashi Ran's illustrations and 3D works, all curated by Boiled for the event, as well as paintings and 3D works by Katayama Meriyasu, Nishi Yudai and others. Vintage shops HAg-Le and FUROL will also be participating, and remade secondhand clothing brand yuumiARIA will be selling items exclusive to the Isetan Shinjuku store. Other items on offer include apparel from MALION and 77circa. "TOKYO HIGHLIGHT" conveys the vibe of independent street artists and the edgy crowds who gather to discover them. We also recommend checking out magma's solo exhibition "STOP THE TIME," taking place at Boiled during the same period. On March 4th, Tonda Hayashi Ran will be hosting an in-store event at "TOKYO HIGHLIGHT." Those who spend over 10,800 yen (tax included) at the event will receive a free caricature drawing for the first 15 customers.
